A microarray with excellent sensitivity for detecting target materials during biological assays, and a method of manufacturing the same.

A microarray comprising:
- a substrate;
- a spot region formed on the substrate, wherein the spot region comprises a probe material capable of binding to a target material;
- and
- a layer formed on a region of the substrate other than where the spot region is formed, wherein the layer comprises DNA molecules, each comprising at least two nucleotides.

- preparing a substrate;
- forming a spot regions on the substrate, wherein the spot region comprises a probe material capable of binding to a target material;
- and
- forming a layer on a region of the substrate other than where the spot region is formed, wherein the layer comprises DNA molecules, each comprising at least two nucleotides.
