A burner for a melter, comprising a combustion stream transitioning from an elliptical cross section to a circular cross section to provide a flat flame from the circular cross section for combustion in the melter.
A burner comprising a combustion conduit having a first portion with an elliptical cross section;
- a second portion with a circular cross section;
- and a third portion interconnecting the first and second portions, the third portion constructed and arranged with a first end connect to the first portion and a second end connected to the second portion and transitioning in shape from an elliptical cross section at the first end to a circular cross section at the second end.
