Abstract
An aqueous electrodeposition coating composition comprising (a) an organometallic compound and (b) a cathodically electrodepositable binder, the binder comprising an amine-functional phosphorylated resin, provides corrosion protection equivalent to that obtained by the conventional phosphate pretreatment-electrodeposition coating process.
Claims26
An aqueous coating composition comprising a binder and an organometallic compound, the binder comprising an amine-functional phosphorylated resin.
An aqueous coating composition comprising an organometallic compound and an amine-functional resin having at least one group
- in which X is a hydrogen, a monovalent hydrocarbon, an allyl group, an aryl group, an alkylaryl group, an arylalkyl group, or an oxygen atom having a single covalent bond to the phosphorous atom, and each oxygen atom has a covalent bond to a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkylaryl group, an arylalkyl group, or the amine-functional resin, with the caveat that at least one oxygen atom has a covalent bond to the amine-functional resin.
