• wherein the sealing element (9, 10, 11, 11′, 27) is made of plastic;
• characterized in that
• openings (13) are formed in the longitudinal side of the section body (17, 18, 20);
• in that, at its side facing the section body (17, 18, 20), the sealing element (9, 10, 11, 11′, 27) has protrusions (12) for the fastening to the section body (17, 18, 20) which are formed in one piece with the sealing element (9, 10, 11, 11′, 27) and which project through the openings (13);
• and in that the sealing element (9, 10, 11, 11′, 27) is made from a foamed plastic.

A method for the manufacture of a section element

• having a section body (17, 18, 20), in particular of metal, and at least one sealing element (9, 10, 11, 11′, 27) which is fastened to at least a longitudinal side of the section body (17, 18, 20),
• wherein the sealing element (9, 10, 11, 11′, 27) is made of plastic,
• wherein openings (13) are formed in the longitudinal side of the section body (17, 18, 20);
• wherein, at its side facing the section body (17, 18, 20), the sealing element (9, 10, 11, 11′, 27) has protrusions (12) for the fastening to the section body (17, 18, 20) which are formed in one piece with the sealing element (9, 10, 11, 11′, 27) and which project through the openings (13);
• and wherein the sealing element (9, 10, 11, 11′, 27) is made from a foamed plastic
• characterized in that
• the sealing element (9, 10, 11, 11′, 27) is already fastened to the section body (17, 18, 20) during the manufacture of the section element, and in that the sealing element (9, 10, 11, 11′, 27) is foamed, for example by heating, after application onto the section body (17, 18, 20).
