Claims36
A pharmaceutical composition comprising as active ingredients effective amounts of at least one cytokine that stimulates mobilization of hematopoietic cells and a peptide having an amino acid sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:1 or an analog or derivative thereof.
(canceled)
A method for elevating the levels of at least one type of hematopoietic cells in a subject comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of a peptide having an amino acid sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:1 or an analog or derivative thereof.

A method for obtaining a therapeutically effective amount of hematopoietic precursor cells from a subject, comprising:
- a) administering to the subject an effective amount of a peptide having an amino acid sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:1 or an analog or derivative thereof;
- b) harvesting said precursor cells by apheresis;
- and optionally
- c) repeating steps (a) and (b) until a therapeutically effective amount of hematopoietic precursor cells is obtained.
(canceled)
A method for obtaining long-term engraftment of hematopoietic precursor cells, comprising:
- a) administering to a first subject an effective amount of a peptide having an amino acid sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:1 or an analog or derivative thereof;
- b) harvesting said precursor cells by apheresis;
- c) optionally repeating steps (a) and (b) until a therapeutically effective amount of hematopoietic precursor cells is obtained;
- and
- d) transplanting the resulting cells to the first subject or to a second subject in need thereof.
(canceled)
A method of increasing G-CSF-induced hematopoietic precursor cell mobilization, comprising administering to a subject an effective amount of G-CSF in concurrent or sequential combination with a peptide having an amino acid sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:1 or an analog or derivative thereof.
A method for reducing the duration of cytopenia in a subject in need thereof comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of G-CSF in concurrent or sequential combination with a peptide having an amino acid sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:1 or an analog or derivative thereof.
(canceled)
A pharmaceutical kit containing:
- i) at least one cytokine that stimulates mobilization of hematopoietic cells and ii) a peptide having an amino acid sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:1 or an analog or derivative thereof.
