Abstract
A system determines bandwidth use by queues in a network device. To do this, the system determines an instantaneous amount of bandwidth used by each of the queues and an average amount of bandwidth used by each of the queues. The system then identifies bandwidth use by each of the queues based on the instantaneous bandwidth used and the average bandwidth used by each of the queues.
Claims2
A system for determining bandwidth use by each of a plurality of queues, comprising:
- a plurality of queues configured to temporarily store data, each of the queues being allocated a particular amount of bandwidth;
- and
- a queue control engine configured to:
- determine an instantaneous amount of the allocated bandwidth used by each of the queues,
- determine an average amount of the allocated bandwidth used by each of the queues, and
- determine bandwidth use by each of the queues based on the instantaneous bandwidth used and the average bandwidth used by each of the queues.
