Flashlight

A flashlight, having an end formed as an illumination end and an opposite end provided with a barrel, the flashlight being characterized in that:

• the barrel of the flashlight is formed with retaining elements which are located at a front end and a rear end of the barrel, respectively, and spaced from an outer periphery of the barrel, the retaining elements having oppositely facing ends each formed with a lead-in section narrower than each said retaining element, thereby allowing a recess formed at an end of a clipping device to mate with the retaining element at either the front or rear end of the barrel of the flashlight under guidance of a corresponding said lead-in section while a projection formed at a bottom of an opposite end of the clipping device is engaged with a corresponding one of grooves concavely formed on the barrel of the flashlight,
• wherein the clipping device attached to the retaining element at either the front or rear end of the barrel of the flashlight is clipped on an external article to secure the flashlight in place and allow the flashlight to provide illumination in a desired direction.
