Abstract
An illumination apparatus and an image projection display apparatus are provided that are capable of stably obtaining a large amount of illumination light and capable of efficiently using the light emitted from light sources as illumination light. Provided are a plurality of light sources (2) that are arranged in an arc and that emit illumination light toward the axis (L) of the arc; and light guiding means (3) having an entrance end (31) that faces the plurality of light sources (2) and that is formed in a concave surface shape having the focal point on the axis (L) and an exit end (33) from which the illumination light is emitted.
Claims11
An illumination apparatus comprising:
- a plurality of light sources that are arranged in an arc and that emit illumination light toward the axis of the arc;
- and
- light guiding means having an entrance end that faces the plurality of light sources and that is formed in a concave surface shape having a focal point on the axis and an exit end from which the illumination light is emitted.
