Power Converter with a Dynamically Configurable Controller and Output Filter

A power converter, comprising:

• a power train, including:
• at least one power switch coupled to a first output terminal of said power converter, and
• an output filter, including:
• an output filter capacitor with a first terminal coupled to said first output terminal of said power converter, and
• an output filter inductor coupled between a second terminal of said output filter capacitor and a second output terminal of said power converter;
• and
• a controller configured to control a duty cycle of said at least one power switch to regulate an output characteristic of said power converter.

A method of operating a power converter, comprising:

• providing a power train, including:
• at least one power switch coupled to a first output terminal of said power converter, and
• an output filter, including:
• an output filter capacitor with a first terminal coupled to said first output terminal of said power converter, and
• an output filter inductor coupled between a second terminal of said output filter capacitor and a second output terminal of said power converter;
• and
• controlling a duty cycle of said at least one power switch to regulate an output characteristic of said power converter.
