A light emitting device comprising:

• a first plastic substrate;
• a light emitting element having a cathode, an organic compound layer in contact with the cathode, and an anode in contact with the organic compound layer over the first plastic substrate;
• a layer comprising an organic resin over the light emitting element;
• a layer comprising Al, N and O over the layer comprising the organic resin;
• and
• a second plastic substrate over the layer comprising Al, N and O.

A light emitting device comprising:

• a first plastic substrate;
• a first layer comprising Al, N and O over the first plastic substrate;
• a first layer comprising an organic resin over the first layer comprising Al, N and O;
• a second layer comprising Al, N and O over the first layer comprising the organic resin;
• a light emitting element having a cathode, an organic compound layer in contact with the cathode, and an anode in contact with the organic compound layer over the second layer comprising Al, N and O;
• a second layer comprising an organic resin over the light emitting element;
• a third layer comprising Al, N and O over the second layer comprising the organic resin;
• and
• a second plastic substrate over the third layer comprising Al, N and O.
