Air manifold having nozzles

A nozzle, comprising:

• a nozzle body having a nozzle inlet, a nozzle outlet, an inside wall, and an outside wall;
• and
• a passage defined by the inside wall and extending through the nozzle body, wherein the passage couples the nozzle inlet to the nozzle outlet, and wherein the passage comprises:
• a first section extending along a first length from the nozzle inlet to an intermediate transition point between the nozzle inlet and the nozzle outlet and having a variable inside diameter that converges away from the nozzle inlet;
• and
• a second section extending along a second length from the intermediate transition point to the nozzle outlet, wherein the second section has a generally constant inside diameter, and wherein the generally constant inside diameter is less than the variable inside diameter measured at the nozzle inlet;
• wherein the length of the nozzle body is the sum of the first and second lengths, and wherein the first length is greater than the second length.

A method of for manufacturing an air manifold, comprising:

• forming an opening in a curved lateral surface of a main manifold body, wherein the main manifold body also includes an inlet end and a sealed end opposite the inlet end, and wherein the curved lateral surface, the inlet end, and the sealed end define a fluid cavity;
• forming a nozzle having a nozzle inlet, a nozzle outlet, and an annular wall defining a passage that extends through the nozzle body, wherein the passage couples the nozzle inlet to the nozzle outlet, and wherein the nozzle inlet is shaped to conform to the curved lateral outer surface of the main manifold body;
• and
• welding the nozzle inlet to the opening of the main manifold body, wherein the passage is fluidly coupled to the fluid cavity via the opening.
