Degradable cement compositions containing degrading materials and methods of cementing in wellbores

A method of cementing a subterranean formation comprising:

• forming a matrix by providing a composition comprising
• a matrix forming material wherein the matrix forming material comprises
• synthetic polymer,
• a matrix degrading material, and
• water, wherein the water is present in the composition in an amount sufficient to
• form a pumpable slurry;
• placing the composition into the subterranean formation;
• allowing the composition to form a matrix within the wellbore;
• and
• allowing the matrix degrading material to irreversibly breakdown and degrade the matrix forming material.

A method of cementing a subterranean formation comprising:

• forming a matrix by providing a composition comprising
• a matrix forming material wherein the matrix forming material comprises
• natural polymer,
• a matrix degrading material, and
• water, wherein the water is present in the composition in an amount sufficient to
• form a pumpable slurry;
• placing the composition into the subterranean formation;
• allowing the composition to form a matrix within the wellbore;
• and
• allowing the polymeric acid precursor to irreversibly breakdown and degrade the matrix forming material.
