Abstract
A composition based on polyvinyl alcohol and a sulfonated ketone/formaldehyde condensate in the preferred mixing ratio of 1:1 as a further component, is provided as a fluid loss additive in mixtures containing hydraulic binders.
Claims18
A method comprising adding to a composition comprising a hydraulic binder, a polyvinyl alcohol or a derivative thereof as component a) a sufficient amount of a sulfonated ketone/formaldehyde condensate as component b) to decrease the amount of fluid loss in a mixture containing a hydraulic binder compared to a composition without component b), wherein the components a) and b) are present in a weight ratio of from 10:1 to 1:10.
A hydraulic binder containing composition, comprising a polyvinyl alcohol or a derivative thereof as component a) and a sufficient amount of a sulfonated ketone/formaldehyde condensate as component b) to decrease the amount of fluid loss in a mixture containing a hydraulic binder compared to a composition without component b), wherein the components a) and b) are present in a weight ratio of from 10:1 to 1:10.
