Abstract
Embodiments of the invention include methods and compositions involving aldose reductase inhibitors for the treatment of inflammation, including uveitis and asthma.
Claims24
A method of preventing or reducing uveitis or conjunctivitis in a subject comprising administering to a subject diagnosed with or at risk of developing uveitis or conjunctivitis an amount of a pharmaceutically acceptable composition comprising an aldose reductase inhibitor sufficient to prevent, ameliorate, or attenuate uveitis or conjunctivitis.
A method of preventing or reducing asthma associated inflammation in a subject comprising administering to a subject diagnosed with or at risk of developing an inflammatory condition associated with asthma an amount of a pharmaceutically acceptable composition comprising an aldose reductase inhibitor sufficient to prevent, ameliorate, or attenuate inflammation.
