Abstract
Certain cyclic phosphate ester compounds useful, inter alia, as halogen-free flame-retardant compounds, are disclosed. The compounds are particularly useful for providing flame retarded polyurethane foams. (I)

A phosphate compound of the formula:
- wherein, R1 and R2 are straight-chain or branched alkyl groups having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, which optionally contains one or more non-terminal heteroatom substituents, R3 is a alkyl group containing at least one non-terminating hetero atom.
