Abstract
A secondary battery has a bare cell including a can, an electrode assembly in the can and a cap assembly sealing the can. A protective circuit module is on the bare cell, the protective circuit module including a metal protective circuit board.

A secondary battery comprising:
- a bare cell comprising a can, an electrode assembly within the can and a cap assembly sealing the can;
- and
- a protective circuit module on the bare cell, wherein the protective circuit module comprises a protective circuit board made of metal.
