Abstract
A first main-scanning-position correction unit divides a surface to be scanned into first areas in a main scanning direction into areas, sets a separate clock-pulse timing for first area, and corrects a main-scanning position error. A second main-scanning-position correction unit divides the surface into second areas in the main scanning direction based on first-scanning-position correction data, sets a separate clock-pulse timing for each second area, and corrects the main-scanning position error.
Claims20
An optical scanning device comprising:
- a light source configured to emit a light flux;
- a deflector configured to sinusoidally oscillate and thereby deflectively scan a surface to be scanned with the light flux emitted from the light source;
- a first correction unit configured to divide the surface into a plurality of first areas in a main scanning direction and set a separate clock-pulse timing for each of the first areas, and correct a main-scanning position error;
- and
- a second correction unit configured to divide the surface into a plurality of second areas in the main scanning direction based on first corrected data, set a separate clock-pulse timing for each of the second areas, and correct the main-scanning position error, wherein
- the main-scanning position error is corrected by the second correction unit based on the first corrected data.
