Abstract
The invention provides a pseudoglycolipid effective for cancer treatment and the like and a novel synthesis intermediate therefor, as well as a medicament containing the pseudoglycolipid and the like. The inventive compound is represented by the formula (1), or a salt thereof, wherein each symbol is as defined in the specification.
Claims22
A compound represented by the following formula (1)
- wherein R1 is an α-carbasugar residue, R2 and R3 are each independently a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon group having a carbon number of 1 to 28, X is an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom, —CH2— or —NH—, and Y is —CH2—, —CH(OH)— or —CH═CH—, or a salt thereof.
A compound represented by the following formula (2)
- wherein R1a is an α-carbasugar residue wherein a hydroxyl group is protected, R3 is a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon group having a carbon number of 1 to 28, X is an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom, —CH2— or —NH—, Y1 is —CH2—, —CH(OA1)- or —CH═CH—, Z is an amino-protecting group, and A1 is a hydrogen atom or a hydroxyl-protecting group, provided that when Y1 is —CH(OA1)-, two A1 in combination optionally form a protecting group, or a salt thereof.

A method for immuno stimulation, which method comprises administering an effective amount of a compound represented by the following formula (1)
- wherein R1 is an α-carbasugar residue, R2 and R3 are each independently a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon group having a carbon number of 1 to 28, X is an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom, —CH2— or —NH—, and Y is —CH2—, —CH(OH)— or —CH═CH—, or a salt thereof to a subject in need thereof, thereby effecting immuno stimulation in the subject.
A method for inducing selective IFN-γ production, which method comprises administering an effective amount of a compound represented by the following formula (1)
- wherein R1 is an α-carbasugar residue, R2 and R3 are each independently a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon group having a carbon number of 1 to 28, X is an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom, —CH2— or —NH—, and Y is —CH2—, —CH(OH)— or —CH═CH—, or a salt thereof to a subject in need thereof, thereby inducing selective IFN-γ production in the subject.
A method for treating cancer, which method comprises administering an effective amount of a compound represented by the following formula (1)
- wherein R1 is an α-carbasugar residue, R2 and R3 are each independently a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon group having a carbon number of 1 to 28, X is an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom, —CH2— or —NH—, and Y is —CH2—, —CH(OH)— or —CH═CH—, or a salt thereof to a subject in need thereof, thereby treating cancer in the subject.
-18. (canceled)
A commercial package comprising a composition comprising a compound represented by the following formula (1)
- wherein R1 is an α-carbasugar residue, R2 and R3 are each independently a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon group having a carbon number of 1 to 28, X is an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom, —CH2— or —NH—, and Y is —CH2—, —CH(OH)— or —CH═CH—, or a salt thereof, and a written matter describing that the composition can or should be used for immunostimulation, selective IFN-γ production induction or cancer treatment.
