An aqueous binder-containing formulation comprising at least one compound of formula I

• wherein the variables are:
• R1 is selected from the group consisting of a straight chain C1-C20-alkyl, a branched C1-C20-alkyl, a straight chain C1-C20-alkyl substituted with at least one hydroxyl group, a branched C1-C20-alkyl substituted with at least one hydroxyl group, a straight chain C1-C20-alkyl substituted with at least one keto group, a branched C1-C20-alkyl substituted with at least one keto group, a straight chain CO—C1-C19-alkyl, a branched CO—C1-C19-alkyl, a straight chain CO—C2-C19-alkenyl, and a branched CO—C2-C19-alkenyl,
• R2 in each occurrence is the same or different and is a C1-C3-alkyl,
• R3 is selected from the group consisting of a straight chain C1-C20-alkyl, a branched C1-C20-alkyl, a straight chain CO—C1-C19-alkyl, a straight chain CO—C2-C19-alkenyl, and a branched CO—C2-C19-alkenyl,
• x is from 0 to 20,
• y is from 0 to 20,
• provided x and y are not both zero,
• a is from 1 to 3,
• and at least one pigment.
