Abstract
An automated emergency response method and system to remotely and timely update emergency response protocols, such as Emergency Medical Dispatch Protocol Reference Systems (EMDPRS), is provided. A method and system to remotely and timely update the EMDPRS in a controlled, consistent and timely manner is also provided. A method that can provide accurate, up-to-date and consistent EMDPRS provides the advantage of increasing operator readiness and efficiency in responding to an emergency, and increases the chances of success in dealing with the emergency.
Claims30
A method for providing response protocols to recipients over a network, the method comprising:
- populating a data repository with one or more protocols;
- and
- providing at least one protocol to at least one recipient upon occurrence of an emergency via the network;
- wherein the provided at least one protocol comprises a response protocol corresponding to the emergency.
A system for providing response protocols to recipients over a network, the system comprising:
- means for populating a data repository with one or more protocols;
- and
- means for providing at least one protocol to at least one recipient upon occurrence of an emergency via the network;
- wherein the provided at least one protocol comprises a response protocol corresponding to the emergency.
A system for providing response protocols to recipients over a network, the system comprising:
- a processor;
- a user interface functioning via the processor;
- and
- a repository accessible by the processor;
- wherein
- a data repository is populated with one or more protocols;
- at least one protocol is provided to at least one recipient upon occurrence of an emergency via the network;
- and
- the provided at least one protocol comprises a response protocol corresponding to the emergency.
A computer program product comprising a computer usable medium having control logic stored therein for causing a computer to provide response protocols to recipients over a network, the control logic comprising:
- first computer readable program code means for populating a data repository with one or more protocols;
- second computer readable means for providing at least one protocol to at least one recipient upon occurrence of an emergency via the network;
- and
- third computer readable means for updating at least one of the protocols in the data repository;
- wherein the provided at least one protocol comprises a response protocol corresponding to the emergency.
