Sharing information about a document across a private compuer network

A method for providing an improved interface for interacting with a web page within an intranet, comprising:

• providing a flag interface in a first hypertext markup language (HTML) frame of the web page, the flag interface enabling a user of the intranet to flag the web page as the web page is displayed by the web browser;
• providing a tag interface in the first HTML frame of the web page, the tag interface enabling the user to associate a tag with the web page as the web page is displayed by the web browser;
• providing a comment interface in the first HTML frame of the web page, the comment interface enabling the user to share comments about the web page with other users of the intranet as the web page is displayed by the web browser;
• and
• providing web page content in a second HTML frame of the web page.

A computer-readable medium having computer-executable instructions stored thereon which, when executed by a computer, cause the computer to:

• provide a flag interface within a document, the flag interface adapted to display users of a private computer network who have flagged the document;
• provide a tag interface within the document, the tag interface adapted to display tags that the users associated with the document;
• and to
• provide a comment interface within the document, the comment interface adapted to display comments generated by users regarding the document.
