Dimethyl cyanamide is an active herbicide and nematicide.

A method of controlling undesirable vegetation by applying to the vegetation or to the locus thereof a herbicidally effective amount of dimethyl cyanamide.
A method of controlling nematodes by applying to the nematodes, to the locus of the nematodes, or to a locus where control of nematodes is desired, a nematicidally effective amount of dimethyl cyanamide.
A herbicidal composition comprising a herbicidally effective amount of dimethyl cyanamide and an agriculturally acceptable diluent or carrier.
