Abstract
A sound wave generator includes one or more carbon nanotube wire structures. The one or more carbon nanotube wire structures produce sound by means of the thermoacoustic effect.

An apparatus, the apparatus comprising:
- a signal device;
- a medium;
- and
- a sound wave generator, the sound wave generator comprises a carbon nanotube structure, the carbon nanotube structure comprises of one or more carbon nanotube wire structures;
- the sound wave generator transmits a signal to the carbon nanotube structure, wherein the carbon nanotube structure converts the signal into heat;
- and the heat is transferred to the medium and causes a thermoacoustic effect.

An apparatus, the apparatus comprising:
- an acoustic device, the acoustic device comprises a carbon nanotube structure, the carbon nanotube structure comprises one or more carbon nanotube wire structures;
- the carbon nanotube structure produces sound waves by repeated heating of a medium.
A sound producing system, the sound producing system comprises of:
- a signal device;
- at least one carbon nanotube wire structure;
- and
- a medium in contact with the at least one carbon nanotube wire structure;
- wherein the at least one carbon nanotube wire structure is capable of receiving a signal from the signal device;
- and
- the at least one carbon nanotube wire structure is capable of producing sound waves by converting the received signal to heat, transferring the heat to the medium and heating of the medium to cause thermal expansion of the medium resulting in sound wave production.
