A self-contained in-borehole gas monitor (IGM) apparatus comprising a detector for measuring a gas variable, and a controller configured to automatically periodically use the detector to measure a gas variable.
A method for testing a gas sample in a borehole, comprising the steps of:
- (a) providing a self-contained in-borehole gas monitor (IGM) apparatus;
- and
- (b) using the IGM apparatus to automatically periodically measure a gas variable of the gas sample.
