Transmission Unit Provided with a Control Device for a Motor Vehicle

A transmission unit (2) for a motor vehicle comprising:

• a fixed supporting structure (20);
• a driving transmission shaft and at least one driven transmission shaft that are parallel to one another;
• and
• a control device (16), comprising a control member (110) that:
• a) is movable with respect to said supporting structure (20) with a translational motion of selection of the ranges of the gears along a control axis (111) between a plurality of operating positions, each associated to a corresponding range of gears;
• and
• b) can turn, in each of said operating positions, about said control axis (111) between an idle angular position and at least one engagement angular position, in which it controls engagement of a gear forming part of the range selected;
• said transmission unit being characterized in that said control member (110) is set at least in part in front of an axial end (6) of said transmission shafts.
