Abstract
Audio is adaptively associated with speakers, depending on the speaker configuration that is present. Each speaker it receives an audio assignment based on its individual spectral characteristics. As more speakers are added, content is adaptively associated with that you speaker, and taken away from the previous.
Claims15
A musical reproduction device, comprising:
- a musical reproduction element, which receives information indicative of audio information to be played through audio reproduction equipment via at least one port on said musical reproduction element;
- a memory, coupled to said musical reproduction element, and storing spectral information about multiple different spectral characteristics of multiple different audio reproduction equipment;
- and
- a communication part, controlling communication of said audio information from said musical reproduction element indicative of audio information directed to different audio reproduction equipment, said controlling being based on said spectral information indicative of said spectral characteristics stored in said memory, and wherein said communication part determines a spectral makeup of said audio information, determines, based on said spectral information stored in said memory, which audio information has spectral characteristics that best match to spectral characteristics of specific audio reproduction equipment, where a first audio information with a first spectral characteristic matches to first spectral characteristics of a first audio reproduction equipment and is communicated to said audio reproduction equipment based on said determines, and where a second audio information with a second spectral characteristic matches to second spectral characteristics of a second audio reproduction equipment and is communicated to said audio reproduction equipment based on said determines.
A computer, receiving information about specific parameters related to spectral characteristics of plural different audio reproduction equipment, including at least a first audio reproduction equipment having first spectral characteristics, and second audio reproduction equipment having second spectral characteristics different than said first spectral characteristics, and said computer using said parameters to make a determination about which of plural sounds should be sent to which of plural sound reproduction devices.
An audio player comprising:
- a decision module, receiving information about specific parameters related to spectral characteristics of plural different audio reproduction equipment, including at least a first audio reproduction equipment having first spectral characteristics, and second audio reproduction equipment having second spectral characteristics different than said first spectral characteristics,
- and said decision module receiving audio to be played from an audio source, and determining spectral information in said audio to be played, and using said parameters to make a determination about which parts of said spectral information should be sent to which of plural sound reproduction devices and producing outputs indicative of said decisions.
