Method, apparatus and computer program for reverse load balancing for the provision of services to client devices

A computer program product comprising at least one computer-readable storage medium having computer-readable program code portions stored therein, the computer-readable program code portions comprising:

• a first executable portion for receiving, at a device, a report from each of a plurality of mobile terminals, each report including a dynamic value indicative of a characteristic of the respective mobile terminal;
• a second executable portion for defining a group of mobile terminals based on members of the group having respective dynamic values similar to each other within a threshold amount;
• and
• a third executable portion for providing the members of the group with rules defining criteria for at least some of the members with respect to providing future reports to the device.

An apparatus comprising a processing element configured to:

• receive, at a device, a report from each of a plurality of mobile terminals, each report including a dynamic value indicative of a characteristic of the respective mobile terminal;
• define a group of mobile terminals based on members of the group having respective dynamic values similar to each other within a threshold amount;
• and
• provide the members of the group with rules defining criteria for at least some of the members with respect to providing future reports to the device.

An apparatus comprising:

• means for receiving, at a device, a report from each of a plurality of mobile terminals, each report including a dynamic value indicative of a characteristic of the respective mobile terminal;
• means for defining a group of mobile terminals based on members of the group having respective dynamic values similar to each other within a threshold amount;
• and
• means for providing the members of the group with rules defining criteria for at least some of the members with respect to providing future reports to the device.
