Abstract
An optical disk drive recovers data in a write-once optical disk interrupted in the middle of recording operation. An optical disk drive includes a CD-R drive. When MP3 files are recorded in a CD-R, a CPU of the drive creates recovery data including file information, such as a filename, an extension, and a destination folder name of each MP3 file, prior to writing of the MP3 files; and writes the data. When power shutdown arose during recording of the MP3 files, the CPU reads the recovery data written in heads of respective MP3 files; creates FATs by use of the thus-read recovery data; and writes the FATs into the first tack of the CD-R.
Claims10
An optical disk drive comprising:
- a unit for reserving an FAT area in a write-once optical disk;
- a unit for recording data in the write-once optical disk;
- a unit for recording recovery data in a head of the data before initiation of recording of the data;
- a unit for detecting that recording is interrupted before completion of recording of the data;
- and
- a unit that reads the recovery data recorded in the head of the data, creates an FAT, and records the FAT into the FAT area when interruption is detected.
An optical disk drive comprising:
- a unit for reserving an FAT area in a first track of a write-once optical disk;
- a unit that records recovery data in a second track and subsequent tracks of the write-once optical disk and records audio data to be recorded subsequently to the recovery data;
- a unit for detecting that recording is interrupted before completion of recording of the audio data;
- a unit for closing the track where recording operation has been interrupted when interruption is detected;
- a unit for determining whether or not the interrupted track is a first track;
- and
- a unit that, when the interrupted track is not the first track, reads the recovery data from the write-once optical disk, creates an FAT, and records the FAT into the FAT area and that, when the interrupted track is a first track, does not create an FAT.
