Abstract
Water-insoluble matrix tablets based on oxycodone or one of its pharmaceutically acceptable salts and capable of prolonged release of oxycodone to the body, exhibiting a crush resistance of at least 4 MPa.
Claims24
Water-insoluble, matrix tablets comprising oxycodone or one of its pharmaceutically acceptable salts, capable of releasing oxycodone into the body over an extended time period and comprising oxycodone within a compression matrix, said matrix comprising at least one excipient chosen from the group consisting of sustained-release, pH-independent, water-insoluble polymers, mineral excipients and their mixtures, wherein the quantity of excipient and the compression conditions are chosen so that the crush resistance of said tablets is at least 4 MPa, advantageously at least 6 MPa.
Dependencies are inferred from the claim text.
