System and method for allocating spare system resources

In a computing system, a method of allocating a resource of a personal computing system for utilization by another computing system, the method comprising:

• negotiating regarding the allocation of a resource of a personal computing system for utilization by another computing system different from the personal computing system;
• determining, based at least in part on the negotiating, whether to allocate the resource of the personal computing system for utilization by the other computing system;
• and
• if it is determined to allocate the resource of the personal computing system for utilization by the other computing system, then:
• allocating the resource of the personal computing system for utilization by the other computing system;
• and
• outputting a signal indicating the allocation of the resource of the personal computing system for utilization by the other computing system.

A computing system that allocates a resource of a personal computing system for utilization by another computing system, the computing system comprising:

• at least one processor that operates to, at least:
• receive information of respective incentives associated with the utilization of a resource of a personal computing system by each of a plurality of other computing systems;
• select, based at least in part on the respective incentives, a computing system of the plurality of other computing systems to which the resource of the personal computing system shall be allocated;
• allocate the resource of the personal computing system for utilization by the selected computing system;
• and
• output a signal indicating the allocation of the resource of the personal computing system for utilization by the selected computing system.

A computing system that allocates a resource of a personal computing system for utilization by another computing system, the computing system comprising:

• at least one processor that operates to, at least:
• negotiate regarding the allocation of a resource of a personal computing system for utilization by another computing system different from the personal computing system;
• determine, based at least in part on the negotiating, whether to allocate the resource of the personal computing system for utilization by the other computing system;
• and
• if it is determined to allocate the resource of the personal computing system for utilization by the other computing system, then:
• allocate the resource of the personal computing system for utilization by the other computing system;
• and
• output a signal indicating the allocation of the resource of the personal computing system for utilization by the other computing system.
