Abstract
Methods and systems for providing content (e.g., such as web content) to a computing device are disclosed. An example method for providing web content includes receiving, from a first computing device, a request for the web content and determining a device type of the first computing device. The example method further includes retrieving the web content and modifying the web content based on the device type. The example method still further includes providing the modified web content to the first computing device for display on the first computing device.
Claims25
A method for providing web content to a first computing device, comprising:
- receiving, from the first computing device, a request for the web content;
- determining a device type of the first computing device;
- retrieving the web content;
- modifying the web content based on the device type;
- and
- providing the modified web content to the first computing device for display on the first computing device.
A server for providing content to a first wireless device, the server comprising:
- a storage device;
- and
- a processor operatively coupled with the storage device, the storage device storing a program for controlling the processor, the processor being operative with the program to:
- receive, from the first wireless device, a request for the content;
- determine a device type of the first wireless device;
- retrieve the content;
- modify the content based on the device type;
- and
- provide the content to the first wireless device for display on the first wireless device.
A server for providing web content to a computing device, the server comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a storage device operatively coupled with the processor, the storage device storing a program for controlling the processor, the processor being operative with the program to:
- receive, from the first computing device, a request for the web content;
- determine a device type of the first computing device;
- retrieve the web content;
- modify the web content based on the device type using a profile for the first computing device;
- and
- provide the modified web content to the first computing device.
An apparatus comprising:
- a computer readable storage medium having computer executable software code stored thereon, wherein the computer executable software code, when executed, provides for:
- receiving, from a first wireless device, a request for web content;
- determining a device type of the first wireless device;
- retrieving the web content;
- modifying the web content based on the device type;
- and
- providing the modified web content to the first wireless device for display on the first wireless device.
An apparatus comprising:
- a computer readable storage medium having computer executable software code stored thereon, wherein the computer executable software code, when executed by a processor, causes the processor to:
- receive, from a first computing device, a request for a web content;
- determine a device type of the first computing device;
- retrieve the web content;
- generate a modified web content from the retrieved web content based on an XML profile for the first computing device;
- and
- provide the modified web content to the first computing device.
