Abstract
A firing jig for a honeycomb molded body includes a housing body configured to place a pillar-shaped honeycomb molded body including silicon carbide as a main component with a side face of the honeycomb molded body facing down, and a coat layer formed on at least a placing face of the housing body configured to place the honeycomb molded body thereon. A main component of the coat layer is silicon carbide, the coat layer having an arithmetic average height Ra of about 10 μm or less obtained in conformity with JIS B 0601 (2001).
Claims25
A firing jig for a honeycomb molded body, said firing jig comprising:
- a housing body configured to place a pillar-shaped honeycomb molded body including silicon carbide as a main component with a side face of the honeycomb molded body facing down;
- and
- a coat layer formed on at least a placing face of said housing body configured to place said honeycomb molded body thereon,
- wherein
- a main component of said coat layer includes silicon carbide,
- said coat layer having an arithmetic average height Ra of about 10 μm or less obtained in conformity with JIS B 0601 (2001).
A method for manufacturing a honeycomb structure formed by a honeycomb fired body, said method comprising:
- molding a ceramic material including silicon carbide as a main component to manufacture a pillar-shaped honeycomb molded body having a large number of cells disposed in a longitudinal direction with a cell wall therebetween;
- degreasing said honeycomb molded body;
- and
- firing the degreased honeycomb molded body to manufacture the honeycomb fired body,
- wherein
- said honeycomb molded body is fired in a state that said honeycomb molded body is placed in a firing jig,
- said firing jig comprising:
- a housing body configured to place said honeycomb molded body with a side face of the honeycomb molded body facing down;
- and
- a coat layer formed on at least a placing face of said housing body configured to place said honeycomb molded body thereon, and
- a main component of said coat layer is silicon carbide,
- said coat layer having an arithmetic average height Ra of about 10 μm or less obtained in conformity with JIS B 0601 (2001).
