Abstract
Use of a composition comprising finely divided particles of (a) an electrically-conductive material; (b) one or more inorganic binders; and (c) zinc, wherein components (a), (b) and (c) are dispersed in a liquid vehicle, in the manufacture of an electrically-conductive pattern on a substrate for the purpose of increasing the resistivity of said electrically-conductive pattern.
Claims25
Use of a composition comprising finely divided particles of:
- (a) an electrically-conductive material;
- (b) one or more inorganic binders;
- and
- (c) zinc, wherein components (a), (b) and (c) are dispersed in a liquid vehicle, in the manufacture of an electrically-conductive pattern on a substrate for the purpose of increasing the resistivity while maintaining solder adhesion of said electrically-conductive pattern, comprising the following steps:
- i. applying said composition to a substrate to form a coating;
- and
- ii. firing the coated substrate to effect sintering of the finely divided particles to the substrate,
- wherein zinc comprises 10-20% of the mixture.
A method of increasing the resistivity while maintaining solder adhesion of an electrically-conductive pattern which comprises utilizing in the manufacture of said conductive pattern a composition comprising finely divided particles of (a) an electrically-conductive material;
- (b) one or more inorganic binders;
- and (c) zinc, wherein components (a), (b) and (c) are dispersed in a liquid vehicle comprising the following steps:
- iii. applying said composition to a substrate to form a coating;
- and
- iv. firing the coated substrate to effect sintering of the finely divided particles to the substrate
- wherein zinc comprises 10-20% of the mixture.
