Abstract
A cable management panel including a chassis and a drawer slidably mounted to the chassis. The panel includes a rear drawer latch assembly that automatically locks the drawer in the open position to prevent inadvertent closing movement of the drawer.
Claims20
A cable management panel, comprising:
- a) a chassis;
- b) a drawer mounted to the chassis, the drawer having a front and a rear, the drawer being configured to slide between an open position and a closed position relative to the chassis;
- and
- c) a rear drawer latch assembly located at the rear of the drawer, the rear drawer latch assembly including:
- i) a latch body positionable in an unlocked position and a locked position, the latch body including a foot that prevents closing movement of the drawer when the latch body is positioned in the locked position;
- and
- ii) a spring that biases the latch body toward the locked position.

A drawer latch assembly, comprising:
- a) a latch body having a first end and a second end, the latch body defining a recess located between the first end and the second end;
- b) a handle located at the first end of the latch body;
- c) feet located at the second end of the latch body, the feet being spaced apart to define a gap there between, each foot including a front ramped surface and a rear stop surface, the rear stop surface extending in a direction from the first end of the latch body to the second end;
- and
- d) a spring positioned within the recess of the latch body.
2 more elements
A method of operating a cable management panel, the method including:
- a) providing a drawer slidably mounted relative to a chassis by a slide mechanism;
- b) sliding the drawer from a closed position to an open position;
- c) automatically locking the drawer in the open position, including biasing a latch body of a rear drawer latch assembly to a locked position that prevents closing movement of the drawer;
- d) lifting the latch body upward to an unlocked position;
- and
- e) sliding the drawer from the open position to the closed position.
