Abstract
A method of compressing a digital image comprises dividing 12 the image into cells of constant physical size regardless of resolution of the image to produce cell data for each cell which defines content of the cell and compressing 14 the cell data.

A method of compressing a digital image comprising dividing the image into cells of constant physical size regardless of resolution of the image to produce cell data for each cell which defines content of the cell and compressing the cell data.
An image processor comprising a compressor for compressing a digital image and a divider for dividing the image into cells prior to compression by the compression wherein the divider is arranged to divide the image into cells of constant physical size regardless of resolution of the image.
A page composition method for composing a page from digital elements comprising splitting the elements into cells of constant physical size regardless of resolution of the elements to produce cell data and arranging the cell data to form the page.
