Compositions and Aqueous Dispersions

A method of applying a compound to a substrate comprising:

• forming a compound, the compound comprising
• an aqueous dispersion comprising:
• (A) at least one base polymer selected from the group consisting of an ethylene-based co-polymer and a propylene-based co-polymer;
• and
• (B) at least one polymeric stabilizing agent
• at least one filler, wherein the polymeric stabilizing agent is different from the at least one base polymer and is compatible with the at least one base polymer and the at least one filler, and wherein the dispersion has filler in the range of greater than 0 to about 600 parts per hundred parts of a combined amount of the at least one base polymer and the polymeric stabilizing agent;
• frothing the mixture with a gas;
• and
• applying the frothed mixture to a substrate.

A method of applying a compound to a substrate comprising:

• forming a compound, the compound comprising:
• an aqueous dispersion comprising:
• (A) at least one base polymer selected from the group consisting of an ethylene-based co-polymer and a propylene-based co-polymer;
• (B) at least one polymeric stabilizing agent;
• and
• at least one filler, wherein the polymeric stabilizing agent is different from the at least one base polymer and is compatible with the at least one base polymer and the at least one filler, and wherein the dispersion has filler in the range of greater than 0 to about 600 parts per hundred parts of a combined amount of the at least one base polymer and the polymeric stabilizing agent;
• and
• applying the mixture to a substrate.

A method of forming a composition, comprising:

• melt-kneading components of an aqueous dispersion in the presence of water and a neutralizing agent to form melt-kneaded components, wherein the components of the aqueous dispersion comprise:
• (A) at least one base polymer selected from the group consisting of an ethylene-based co-polymer and a propylene-based co-polymer;
• and
• (B) a stabilizing agent;
• then adding filler to the melt-kneaded components in an amount greater than 0 to 600 parts per hundred parts of a combined amount of the at least one base polymer and the polymeric stabilizing agent.

A method of carpet construction, comprising:

• applying a compound as an adhesive layer to a carpet, the compound comprising:
• (A) at least one base polymer selected from the group consisting of an ethylene-based co-polymer and a propylene-based co-polymer;
• (B) at least one polymeric stabilizing agent;
• and
• (C) at least one filler;
• wherein the polymeric stabilizing agent is different from the at least one base polymer and is compatible with the at least one base polymer and the at least one filler, and wherein the dispersion has filler in the range of greater than 0 to about 600 parts per hundred parts of a combined amount of the at least one base polymer and the polymeric stabilizing agent.

An article comprising:

• a carpet;
• and
• a film comprising:
• a continuous base polymer phase, wherein said base polymer being selected from the group consisting of an ethylene-based thermoplastic polymer, a propylene-based thermoplastic polymer, and mixtures thereof;
• and
• a discrete stabilizing agent phase dispersed in said continuous base polymer phase.

An article comprising:

• a carpet;
• and
• a film comprising;
• a continuous stabilizing agent phase;
• and
• a discrete base polymer phase dispersed in said continuous stabilizing agent phase, wherein said base polymer being selected from the group consisting of an ethylene-based thermoplastic polymer, a propylene-based thermoplastic polymer, and mixtures thereof.
