Automated banking machine and system

A cash dispensing automated banking machine that operates responsive to data read from user cards, comprising:

• at least one computer in the automated banking machine;
• a display screen in supporting connection with the automated banking machine;
• a cash dispenser in supporting connection with the automated banking machine;
• a card reader in supporting connection with the automated banking machine;
• wherein the at least one computer is programmed to receive configuration data from at least one server, which configuration data is associated with at least one of a plurality of resources included in the machine;
• wherein the at least one computer is programmed to receive at least one markup language document from the at least one server, wherein the at least one markup language document includes application instructions;
• wherein the at least one computer is programmed to correlate at least one portion of the application instructions to the at least one resource of the automated banking machine responsive to the configuration data;
• and
• wherein the at least one computer is programmed to cause the automated banking machine to carry out at least a portion of a banking transaction responsive to the application instructions, which banking transaction includes operation of the at least one correlated resource.
