Scope-based xps filter driver configuration to perform dynamic operations

A method for controlling a filter pipeline for a printer driver including a logical page filter, document level filter, job level and physical page filter, and command manager, the method comprising:

• processing print tickets in the logical page filter;
• then simultaneously,
• performing operations in the logical page filter on logical pages within a first thread;
• performing document level operations in the document level filter within a second thread;
• performing job level operations and physical page operations in the job level and physical page filter within a third thread;
• and
• generating and managing commands compiled in command lists for the filters,
• wherein each filter runs within its own thread to perform a specific scope of operations defined for each filter.

A computer readable medium containing computer-executable instructions for controlling a filter pipeline for a printer driver including a logical page filter, document level filter, job level and physical page filter, and command manager, the medium comprising:

• computer-executable instructions for processing print tickets in the logical page filter,
• computer-executable instructions for then simultaneously,
• performing operations in the logical page filter on logical pages within a first thread;
• performing document level operations in the document level filter within a second thread;
• performing job level operations and physical page operations in the job level and physical page filter within a third thread;
• and
• computer-executable instructions for generating and managing commands compiled in command lists for the filters,
• wherein each filter runs within its own thread to perform a specific scope of operations defined for each filter.
