The present invention pertains to a miniature flexible thrombectomy catheter having one or more flexible miniature noncollapsing tubular portions including pushable and torqueable structure for introduction into the smaller vessels in neurovascular regions. A jet body having an arcuate fluid jet emanator is incorporated in order to minimize size at the distal portion of a minimally sized catheter tube.
A catheter device comprising a manifold having a main body with a longitudinal axis, said main body having an upstream end and a downstream end, a liquid input port connected to said upstream end of said main body, an elongated flexible catheter tube nonremovably affixed to said downstream end of said main body, an exhaust branch connected to said main body near said upstream end of said main body, said flexible catheter tube having an internal flexible high pressure tube nonremovably affixed therein for receiving and transmitting therethrough a liquid from said input port, said internal high pressure tube having a fluid jet emanator at a downstream end thereof and said flexible catheter tube having spaced output and input orifices upstream from said fluid jet emanator.
A catheter device comprising a manifold having a main body with a longitudinal axis, said main body having an upstream end and a downstream end, a liquid input port connected to said upstream end of said main body, an elongated flexible catheter tube connected to said downstream end of said main body, an exhaust branch connected to said main body near said upstream end of said main body, said flexible catheter tube having an internal flexible high pressure tube therein for receiving and transmitting therethrough a liquid from said input port, said internal high pressure tube having a fluid jet emanator at a downstream end thereof and said flexible catheter tube having spaced output and input orifices upstream from said fluid jet emanator, wherein said fluid jet emanator has a downstream termination in the form of a semi-loop which forms an arc which is less than approximately half of the circumference of the catheter.
A catheter device comprising a manifold having a main body with a longitudinal axis, said main body having an upstream end and a downstream end, a liquid input port connected to said upstream end of said main body, an elongated flexible catheter tube connected to said downstream end of said main body, an exhaust branch connected to said main body near said upstream end of said main body, said flexible catheter tube having an internal flexible high pressure tube therein for receiving and transmitting therethrough a liquid from said input port, said internal high pressure tube having a fluid jet emanator at a downstream end thereof and said flexible catheter tube having spaced output and input orifices upstream from said fluid jet emanator, wherein said internal high pressure tube comprises successive flexible sections made from stainless steel, nitinol, and stainless steel, joined together within said flexible catheter tube.
