Abstract
Embodiments of methods and apparatus for providing information indicative of traffic delay of a wireless link are generally described herein. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.
Claims28
A method comprising:
- receiving, by a reporting node, a measurement request message from a request node, said measurement request message comprising a bin increment mode value corresponding to an exponential bin increment mode;
- monitoring, in response to the measurement request message, network traffic via a wireless link for a duration of one or more of a voice transmission or a video transmission;
- and
- generating histogram information indicative of delay associated with a wireless link utilizing a plurality of bins having one or more bin increments corresponding to the bin increment mode

An article of manufacture comprising::
- a storage medium;
- and
- a plurality of programming instructions stored on the storage medium and designed program the apparatus to:
- receive a measurement request message from a request node, said request message comprising a bin increment mode value corresponding to an exponential bin increment mode;
- monitor, in response to the received measurement request message, network traffic via a wireless link for a duration of one or more of a voice transmission or a video transmission;
- and
- generate histogram information indicative of delay associated with the wireless link utilizing a plurality of bins having one or more bin increments corresponding to the bin increment mode

An apparatus comprising:
- a receiver adapted to receive a measurement request message from a request node, said request message comprising a bin increment mode value corresponding to an exponential bin increment mode;
- a monitor adapted to monitor traffic, in response to the received measurement request message, via a wireless link for a duration of one or more of a voice transmission or a video transmission;
- and
- a generator coupled to the monitor to generate histogram information indicative of delay associated with the wireless link utilizing a plurality of bins having one or more bin increments corresponding to the bin increment

- a flash memory;
- and
- a processor coupled to the flash memory and adapted to receive a measurement request message including a bin increment mode value corresponding to an exponential bin increment mode and also adapted to monitor traffic, in response to the received measurement request message, via a wireless link for a duration of one or more of a voice transmission or a video transmission, and to generate histogram information indicative of delay associated with the wireless link utilizing a plurality of bins having one or more bin increments corresponding to the bin increment mode
