Abstract
A system and method for providing a power state alter signal to a device based upon a position signal corresponding to the mobile device is disclosed. The technology initially accesses a position based rule. The position based rule is then compared to a position signal. A power alerting signal is provided when the position based rule correlates with the position signal.
Claims20
A computer implemented method of providing a power state alter signal to a device based upon a position signal corresponding to said device, said method comprising:
- accessing a position based rule;
- comparing said position based rule and said position signal;
- and
- providing a power state alter signal when said position based rule correlates with said position signal.
A position monitoring device comprising:
- a position based rule receiver configured to access a position based rule from a first component;
- a position based rule comparator configured to receive a position signal and compare said position based rule with said position signal;
- and
- a power state alter signal generator configured to provide a power state alter signal when said position based rule correlates with said position signal.
Instructions on a computer-usable medium wherein the instructions when executed cause a computer system to perform a method of providing a power state alter signal based upon a position signal comprising:
- providing a position based rule to a general location signal receiver device;
- switching to a first power state after providing said position based rule to said general location signal receiver device;
- receiving a power state alter signal from said general location signal receiver device when said position based rule correlates with said position signal;
- and
- switching to a second power state in reaction to said receiving of said power state alter signal.
