Processes for Preparing Chalcopyrite-Type Compounds and Other Inorganic Compounds

A process for preparing a compound of formula M3M1A2, said process comprising reacting a compound of formula M2M1A2 with a compound of formula M3X2, in the presence of at least one coordinating solvent, in order to obtain said compound of formula M3M1A2,

• wherein
• M1 is chosen from B3+, Al3+, Ga3+, In3+, Tl3+, Fe3+, and Au3+;
• M2 is chosen from Li+, Na+, K+, Cs+, (T1)3Si—, and N(T2)4+, wherein each T1 independently represents a C1-C6 alkyl which is linear or branched, and each T2 independently represents a hydrogen atom, or a C1-C6 alkyl which is linear or branched;
• M3 is chosen from Cu+, Ag+, Li+, Na+, K+, Cs+, Rb+, Fr+, Au+, and Hg+;
• A is chosen from S, Se, and, Te;
• X2 is chosen from Cl−, Br−, I−, F−, CH3COO−, NO3−, OCN−, SCN−, and CN−;
• and
• said coordinating solvent is chosen from

• R1, R2, R3 and R4 are the same or different and are chosen from a hydrogen atom, C1-C12 alkyl which is linear or branched, C3-C12 cycloalkyl, C1-C12 heterocyclyl, C2-C8 alkenyl, C2-C8 alkynyl, C6-C12 aryl, C6-C20 aralkyl, C6-C20 alkylaryl, and C1-C12 heteroaryl,
• R1 and R2 may be joined together to form a 5 to 14 membered heterocyclyl or is a part of polymer chain or network.

A process for preparing a compound of formula M3(M5,M1)A2, said process comprising reacting a compound of formula M2(M5,M1)A2 with a compound of formula M3X2, in the presence of at least one coordinating solvent, in order to obtain said compound of formula M3(M5,M1)A2,

• wherein
• M1 is chosen from B3+, Al3+, Ga3+, In3+, Tl3+, Fe3+, and A3+;
• M2 is chosen from Li+, Na+, K+, Cs+, (T1)3Si—, and N(T2)4+, wherein each T1 independently represents a C1-C6 alkyl which is linear or branched, and each T2 independently represents a hydrogen atom, or a C1-C6 alkyl which is linear or branched;
• M3 is chosen from Cu+, Ag+, Li+, Na+, K+, Cs+, Rb+, Fr+, Au+, and Hg+;
• M5 is chosen from B3+, Al3+, Ga3+, In3+, Tl3+, Fe3+, and Au3+;
• A is chosen from S, Se, and, Te;
• and
• X2 is chosen from Cl−, Br−, I−, F−, CH3COO−, NO3−, OCN−, SCN−, and CN−;
• said coordinating solvent is chosen from

A process for preparing a compound of formula M4A, said process comprising reacting a compound of formula M4X2 with a compound of formula (M2)2A, in the presence of at least one coordinating solvent, in order to obtain said compound of formula M4A,

• M2 is chosen from Li+, Na+, K+, Cs+, (T1)3Si—, and N(T2)4+, wherein each T1 independently represents a C1-C6 alkyl which is linear or branched, and each T2 independently represents a hydrogen atom, or a C1-C6 alkyl which is linear or branched;
• M4 is chosen from Cd2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Zn2+, Hg2+, Mg2+, Mn2+, Fe2+, and Pb2+;
• A is chosen from S, Se, and Te;
• and
• X is chosen Cl−, Br−, I−, F−, CH3COO−, NO3−, OCN−, SCN−, and CN−;
• said coordinating solvent is of formula:

• R1, R2, R3 and R4 are the same or different and are chosen from a hydrogen atom, C1-C12 alkyl which is linear or branched, C3-C12 cycloalkyl, C1-C12 heterocyclyl, C2-C8 alkenyl, C2-C8 alkynyl, C6-C12 aryl, C6-C20 aralkyl, C6-C20 alkylaryl, and C1-C12 heteroaryl,

A process for preparing a compound of formula M1A, said process comprising reacting a compound of formula M1X3 with a compound of formula (M2)3A in the presence of a coordinating solvent, so as to obtain said compound of formula M1A,

• M2 is chosen from Li+, Na+, K+, Cs+, (T1)3Si—, and N(T2)4+, wherein each T1 independently represents a C1-C6 alkyl which is linear or branched, and each T2 independently represents a hydrogen atom, or a C1-C6 alkyl which is linear or branched;
• A is chosen from N, P, and As;
• and
• X is chosen from Cl−, Br−, I−, F−, CH3COO−, NO3−, OCN−, SCN−, and CN−;
• and
• said coordinating solvent is of formula:
