Abstract
A graphical interface is provided to select parameters for fitting a hearing device. The graphical interface provides a mechanism to visually represent and control values of these parameters.
Claims20
A method for fitting a hearing device comprising:
- receiving values for an output related parameter and associated frequencies that define the output related parameter as a function of frequency for the hearing device;
- receiving output values and associated input values to define output as a function of input for the hearing device;
- generating on a display a three-dimensional representation of the hearing device in an auditory space defined by the output related parameter, the frequency, and the input;
- receiving data correlated to a user of the hearing device, and generating a three-dimensional target in terms of the output related parameter, the frequency, and the input;
- and
- presenting the three dimensional target on the same display as the three-dimensional representation of the hearing device.

A computer-readable medium having computer-executable instructions for a graphical interface for fitting a hearing device performing a method comprising:
- receiving values for an output related parameter and associated frequencies that define the output related parameter as a function of frequency for the hearing device;
- receiving output values and associated input values to define output as a function of input for the hearing device;
- generating on a display a three-dimensional representation of the hearing device in an auditory space defined by the output related parameter, the frequency, and the input;
- receiving data correlated to a user of the hearing device, and generating a three-dimensional target in terms of the output related parameter, the frequency, and the input;
- and
- presenting the three dimensional target on the same display as the three-dimensional representation of the hearing device.

A system for fitting a hearing device comprising:
- a monitor for displaying a graphical interface;
- a selection device for moving a graphical pointer displayed on the graphical interface;
- and
- a computer coupled to the monitor and the selection device, the computer programmed to:
- receive values for an output related parameter and associated frequencies that define the output related parameter as a function of frequency for the hearing device;
- receive output values and associated input values to define output as a function of input for the hearing device;
- generate on a display a three-dimensional representation of the hearing device in an auditory space defined by the output related parameter, the frequency, and the input;
- receive data correlated to a user of the hearing device, and generating a three-dimensional target in terms of the output related parameter, the frequency, and the input;
- and
- present the three dimensional target on the same display as the three-dimensional representation of the hearing device.

A graphical interface for fitting a hearing device comprising:
- one or more displays including at least one display element comprising:
- a first slider representing a first parameter of the hearing device;
- a second slider representing a second parameter of the hearing device;
- an upper limit stop bar defined by a boundary of the first or second slider representing the first or second parameter having a highest value;
- a lower limit stop bar defined by a boundary of the first or second slider representing the first or second parameter having a lowest value;
- a third slider representing a difference between the first and second parameters, the third slider having boundaries defined by the upper limit stop bar and the lower limit stop bar;
- an axis on which the third slider is arranged with the first slider having a boundary contacting a boundary of the third slider parallel to the axis and the second slider having a boundary contacting a boundary of the third slider opposite the first slider and parallel to the axis, wherein movement of the first, second, and third sliders is constrained along the axis and limited to a maximum separation of the upper limit bar and lower limit bar, the maximum separation defined by a constraint relation between the first parameter and the second parameter.
