Method of generating data block in wireless communication system

A method of generating a protocol data unit (PDU) in a radio link control (RLC) layer of a wireless communications system, the method comprising:

• generating a PDU comprising a header and a service data unit (SDU) received from an upper layer, the header comprising a header extension (HE) field, wherein the HE field indicates that the succeeding octet contains data and the last octet of the PDU is the last octet of the SDU.

A method of generating a protocol data unit (PDU) in a radio link control (RLC) layer of a wireless communications system, the method comprising:

• generating a PDU comprising a header and at least one service data unit (SDU) received from an upper layer, the header comprising a header extension (HE) field, wherein the HE field indicates that the succeeding octet contains a length indicator (LI) and the last octet of the PDU is the last octet of the last SDU.

A wireless communication device comprising:

• a RF (Radio Frequency) unit for transmitting radio signals;
• and
• a processor coupled to the RF unit, having a RLC (Radio Link Control) layer, and configured to generate a RLC PDU (Protocol Data Unit) comprising a header and a service data unit (SDU) received from an upper layer, the header comprising a header extension (HE) field, wherein the HE field indicates that the succeeding octet contains data and the last octet of the PDU is the last octet of the SDU.
