Eyeglass lens processing apparatus

An eyeglass lens processing apparatus for processing a periphery of an eyeglass lens, the apparatus comprising:

• a drilling tool which is arranged to perform a drilling from a front side or a rear side of the lens to form a hole through the lens;
• an inclining unit that inclines a processing axis of the drilling tool by an arbitrary angle relative to a lens chuck shaft;
• a hole position data inputting unit that includes a selector for selecting an input screen in which hole position data referring to a lens front surface is to be input or an input screen in which hole position data referring to a lens rear surface is to be input;
• a hole angle setting unit that includes a setting screen for setting an angle of the hole to be formed through the lens, and a selector for selecting if the angle of the hole coincides with a normal line of a lens surface of the lens;
• a lens position measuring unit that measures the lens surface in a direction of the lens chuck shaft by bringing a measuring piece into contact with the lens front surface and/or the lens rear surface;
• and
• an arithmetic and controlling unit that, in the case that a reference surface referred by the input hole position data is the lens surface from which the drilled is performed by the drilling tool, measures the lens surface from which the drilled is performed and obtains data for drilling based on the measured lens surface and the input hole position data, and in the case that the reference surface is the lens surface other than the lens surface from which the drilled is performed, measures the other lens surface and obtains data for drilling which defines that the hole to be formed passes through a hole position on the measured other lens surface and has the set angle based on the input hole position data.
