Abstract
The invention relates to novel air barriers made from elastomeric compositions. In particular, the invention relates to novel air barriers such as innerliners, air sleeves, and innertubes made from novel C4 to C7 isoolefin based polymers with new sequence distributions or that are substantially free of long chain branching.

A cured elastomeric composition comprising:
- i. a copolymer comprising an isoolefin and a multiolefin,
- ii. the copolymer being substantially free of long chain branching.
A cured elastomeric composition comprising:
- a copolymer comprising an isoolefin and an alkylstyrene, the copolymer having a copolymer sequence distribution defined by:
- F=1−{mA/(1+mA)}
- wherein m is the copolymer sequence distribution parameter;
- A is the molar ratio of alkylstyrene to isoolefin in the copolymer;
- and
- F is the alkylstyrene-isoolefin-alkylstyrene triad fraction in the copolymer;
- wherein m is less than 38.
