Abstract
According to one embodiment, a method is described for relaying streaming data from a first external device and to transmit streaming data to a second external device. The method comprises (i) receiving a first delay time to be needed by the second external device from the second external device, (ii) calculating a third delay time by adding the first delay time to a second delay time to be needed in the information processing device, and (iii) transmitting the third delay time to the first external device.
Claims20
An information processing device coupled between a first external device and a second external device, comprising:
- a first receiver to receive streaming data from the first external device;
- a processor to process data associated with the streaming data received from the first receiver;
- a memory to store first data indicating a first delay time for the processor to process the data;
- a first transmitter to transmit the streaming data to the second external device after processing of the data by the processor;
- a second receiver to receive second data indicating a second delay time to be needed in the second external device before display of the streaming data;
- an adder to calculate a third delay time by adding the first delay time and the second delay time;
- and
- a second transmitter to transmit third data indicating the third delay time to the first external device.
An information relaying method in an information processing device to receive streaming data from a first external device and to transmit streaming data to a second external device, comprising:
- receiving a first delay time to be needed by the second external device from the second external device;
- calculating a third delay time by adding the first delay time to a second delay time to be needed in the information processing device;
- and
- transmitting the third delay time to the first external device.
An information processing system, comprising:
- a transmitting device to transmit streaming data and to output audio data included in the streaming data to a speaker;
- a repeater to receive the streaming data from the transmitting device and to transmit the streaming data;
- and
- a receiving device to receive the streaming data from the repeater, and to output video data included in the streaming data to a display;
- the repeater including
- (1) a processor to process at least the video data contained in the streaming data received from the transmitting device,
- (2) a first memory to store first data indicating a first delay time for the processor to be needed to process the video data,
- (3) a receiver to receive second data indicating a second delay time to be needed in the receiving device before displaying of the video data,
- (4) an adder to calculate a third delay time by adding the first delay time and the second delay time, and
- (5) a transmitter to transmit third data indicating the third delay time to the transmitting device.
