Abstract
A disposable concentrate pump where the small pump body is part of a liquid collapsible bag reservoir, and the actuating solenoid is mounted in the dispenser. When a new bag is loaded, the attached pump body is inserted into a solenoid. When the bag is empty the in-bag part of the pump will be disposed of, along with the empty bag.
Claims17
A disposable pump for integration with a collapsible reservoir, comprising:
- a) a hollow pump body having a first end connecting to the reservoir and a second end for dispensing liquid;
- b) a nozzle at the second end of the pump body, comprising a nozzle chamber and output hole;
- c) a seal-base inside the pump body;
- d) a plunger made of magnetic material, having a seal-head extending through the seal-base, reciprocally movable within the pump body from a first position nearer the first end of the pump body to a second position nearer the second end of the pump body;
- and
- e) a compression spring between the seal-base and the plunger, biasing the plunger into the first position;
- such that when the plunger is biased by the compression spring to the first position, the seal-head seals against the seal-base, blocking flow of liquid.

A disposable pump for integration with a collapsible reservoir, comprising:
- a) a hollow pump body comprising:.
- a first end connecting to the reservoir,
- a second end for dispensing liquid,
- a seal-base inside the pump body;
- a first section between the first end and the seal-base;
- a second section between the seal-base and the second end;
- a first bellows formed in the first section;
- and
- a second bellows formed in the second section;
- the seal-base being movable from a first position nearer the first end of the pump body to a second position nearer the second end of the pump body, wherein when the seal base is in the first position, the first bellows is compressed, the first section is reduced in volume, the second bellows are expanded and the second chamber is increased in volume, and when the seal base is in the second position, the second bellows is compressed, the second section is reduced in volume, the first bellows are expanded and the first chamber is increased in volume,;
- b) a nozzle at the second end of the pump body;
- c) a top-cap at the first end of the pump body;
- d) a rigid seal-rod extending axially along the pump body from the top cap to the nozzle, having a seal-head sealing against the seal-base when the seal-base is in the second position;
- e) at least one lifting rib on an outside surface of the pump body adjacent the seal-base;
- f) a compression spring between the seal-base and the top cap, biasing the seal-base into the second position;
- such that when the lifting rib is reciprocally moved parallel to an axis of the pump body, the seal-base is moved from the first position to the second position.
