Method of detecting lint

A method of detecting lint in a clothes dryer, comprising:

• emitting a predetermined amount of light from a light source positioned within a clothes dryer;
• receiving at least a portion of the predetermined amount of light at the photocell;
• determining whether the at least a portion of the predetermined amount of light received at the photocell surpasses a threshold amount of light;
• and
• providing an indication that lint is present within the clothes dryer if the threshold is reached.

A method of detecting lint in a clothes dryer, comprising:

• receiving light through a surface within the clothes dryer;
• receiving the light at a photocell if the light is reflected off the surface when lint covers the surface;
• and
• providing an indication that lint is present within the clothes dryer if light is received at the photocell.

A method of detecting lint in a clothes dryer, comprising:

• directing a predetermined amount of light from a light source to a photocell positioned within a clothes dryer;
• receiving at least a portion of the predetermined amount of light at the photocell;
• determining whether the at least a portion of the predetermined amount of light received at the photocell is below a threshold amount of light;
• providing an indication that lint is present in the clothes dryer if the predetermined amount of light received at the photocell is below the threshold amount of light.

A method of detecting lint in a clothes dryer, comprising:

• emitting a predetermined amount of light from a light source positioned within a clothes dryer;
• receiving at a photocell the predetermined amount of light from the light source;
• and
• determining at a threshold indicator that lint is present if the photocell receives an insufficient amount of light in comparison with the predetermined amount of light.

A method of detecting lint, comprising:

• providing a photocell that receives light from a light source;
• receiving at an electrical circuit an amount of current from the photocell, the amount of current being proportional to the amount of light received by the photocell from the light source;
• electrically connecting the electrical circuit with a threshold indicator;
• and
• determining the presence of lint at the threshold indicator, wherein the presence of lint is determined if the threshold indicator receives from the electrical circuit an amount of current that is below a threshold amount of current.

A method of detecting lint, comprising:

• providing a photocell that receives light from a light source;
• receiving at an electrical circuit an amount of current from the photocell, the amount of current being proportional to the amount of light received by the photocell from the light source;
• electrically connecting the electrical circuit with a threshold indicator;
• and
• determining the presence of lint at the threshold indicator, wherein the presence of lint is determined if the threshold indicator receives from the electrical circuit at least an amount of current that surpasses a threshold amount of current.
