Method and computer system for interacting with a database

A data storage medium comprising storage instructions for causing a computer to interact with a database having data related to modeled products and product parts, the instructions comprising instructions to cause the computer to:

• (a) display a graphical user interface, the graphical user interface being adapted to allow a user to access a database;
• (b) provide within the graphical user interface a toolbar with at least one field suitable for display of an argument, the toolbar being adapted to allow a user to execute a function using said argument;
• (c) query the database;
• and
• (d) update the argument displayed in the field, using a result of the query.

A computer system comprising:

• a graphical user interface enabling user interaction with a database comprising data related to modeled products and product parts, said graphical user interface being adapted to allow a user to access the database and further comprising a toolbar with at least one field suitable for displaying an argument, said toolbar being adapted for allowing a user to execute a function using said argument;
• means for querying the database;
• and
• updating the argument displayed in the field, using a result of the querying step.
